Hornets Nest Park – 102 acre park in northwest Charlotte offers walking trails, tennis, athletic fields, basketball, a playground, lake, picnic shelters, 18 hole disc golf course, and a BMX track.

McAlpine Creek Park – A park that features a dog park, walking trails, and a disc golf course.

US National Whitewater Center – an outdoor recreation facility that features white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, zip lining, and much more. Events and classes are also held here throughout the year. Live music is often played on the amphitheater stage and there’s also a restaurant and bar on site.

The Fig Tree – serves up delicious southern fare. Be sure to try the fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits.

Beef ‘N Bottle Steakhouse – A Charlotte favorite for more than 50 years, Beef ‘N Bottle is the perfect spot for a special occasion. The steakhouse offers an extensive menu of beef, chicken, and seafood dishes.

Little Mama’s Italian – A cozy spot for authentic Italian cuisine. The pasta dishes are mouth-watering and the prices are very reasonable.
